Nepal Health Corps is committed to supporting the implementation of the Universal Health Coverage at the community, district and National scales of Nepal. We are building a national network of universities, research centers, and other partner organizations/institutions to translate the latest expertise in Universal Health Coverage into action. Nepal Health Corps Ambassadors and National networks support the localization of Universal Health Coverage and it’s implementation, develop long term transformation pathways for Universal Health Coverage in Nepal, promote education around SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, and launch solution initiatives.

Our Mission & Vision

The Nepal Health Corps has been launched in 2019 under the auspices of the UN Sustainable Development Solution Network and it’s Youth initiatives, administered by IDEAS For Us in Nepal (Regd: 47567, Social Welfare Council Nepal). Nepal Health Corps mobilizes   young doctors, medical students and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Good Health and well Being and the Universal Health Coverage.

We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental health challenges confronting the nation. Nepal Health Corps works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.

The governance of Nepal Health Corps aims to enable a large number of  young medical leaders from all regions to participate in the development of the Nepal. The Nepal Health Corps Leadership Council brings together global sustainable development leaders on Health from all regions drawn from civil society, public, and private sectors. It acts as the advisory board of Nepal Health Corps. Much of Nepal Health Corps work is led by Ambassadors and Fellows , which mobilize knowledge institutions around the Universal Health Coverage. Thematic Working Groups mobilize experts from around the Nation on the technical challenges of implementing the SDGs and the Universal Health Coverage. Nepal Health Corps has a small secretariat with offices in Chitwan Medical College, Institute of Medicine, and Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences.
